I Joined the Double Digit Club for Running!!! I RAN 11 MILES!

I'm training for a half marathon (next weekend) and yesterday I did my longest run. I ran 11 miles. Ok, I didn't run all of it, but I ran about 10 miles of it. It took me forever. My first 5.5 miles were uphill, running into the wind, so that really put a damper on my time. My wonderful husband had rode up to the front of our neighborhood just as I was coming home and he cheered me on from his bike! That really helped me finish strong. He then went home and made me an ice bath. I think that's why I'm able to walk almost pain-free today. I sat in an ice bath for a little while and it helped with the pain in my calves and knees. It wasn't high enough to get my hips, so those are hurting pretty bad. I'll have to remember to make sure my hips get in the ice bath. So, this has been an amazing journey seeing that I started out running 2 miles and have gotten up to 11. I'm hoping my training has paid off so I can run 13 on Saturday!

This will be me next weekend---i'm running on sand!

Yay for you!! I am so impressed and proud. I have always wanted to do that (used to be a runner before the feet issues got bad) --- and now I suspect it will never happen. You're awesome!

Great job! I did that once. I don't know that I'll be able to do it again, but man it just feels so awesome, doesn't it? It's so amazing when you realize how much you ran. You are a runner now!
